Hot Travel Tips from India #1
Thinking of heading to India on a holiday or a backpacking odyssey some time soon, and looking for some hot travel tips?
Sal, our fearless leader, is in India this week on a buying trip and she's been sending us messages from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, where it's absolutely baking right now. We're talking 45 degrees plus, every single day... not for the faint-hearted!
A smart and seriously experienced traveler who loves to spend time in the REAL (as opposed to touristy) India, Sal always stays in humble guesthouses in the heart of the cities she works in.
This time however, she has holed up in a seriously gorgeous hotel... which brings us to our Travel Top #1;
1) Normally there may be no way you could afford deluxe accommodation, but in the summer when the thermostat reads north of 40, these places are often heavily discounted. You can get to stay in some pretty amazing places if you are willing to cope with the heat..... The Ajit Bhawan (where Sal is staying now) hosts royal weddings and is a well-known heritage site - and it's half the price in the summer months!
Stay tuned for our next post to find out why Sal always wears a shawl when traveling in India... xx
