Chakras and Crystals
A Chakra can be described as any part of the subtle body (i.e. not the physical body but the emotional or psychological one) which is believed to be a centre of psychic energy in traditional Indian religious beliefs.
The seven Chakras are arranged along the spinal cord, from Muladhara at the bottom through Svadhisthana, Nabhi-Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddhi, Ajna and Sahasrara at the top.
Put simply, it is believed that when any Chakra's spiritual energy is misaligned, certain problems both physical and emotional will arise
As well as being related to an individual body part or function, each Chakra is represented by a symbolic image associated with a colour, and a gemstone of this colour.
The handy chart below which we borrowed from Access Gems shows which crystals are associated with which Chakra. For more information on each individual Chakra and its associated crystal, stay tuned - once a month, we'll be sharing a blog post about a different Chakra and unveiling new jewellery featuring this crystal, beginning with Garnet (Base Chakra) in October.
